Gilded Beauty & Co.

Getting your hair done should feel like exhaling.

Practical luxury in a private studio in Golden, BC. Washes, scalp care, head spa, braiding, and styling — one guest at a time, with the door closed.

Practical luxury

Both halves of that phrase get to be true.

The luxury part is the hour itself — warm water, someone else's hands, nowhere to be, nobody waiting behind you. One guest at a time, with the door closed.

The practical part is what happens afterwards. You go home, sleep on it, get through a work week, and still like what you see. Hair that only looks right in the chair isn't finished.

No upselling, no talking over you, no being handed off halfway through. Just someone listening to what you actually asked for.

What that means in the room

Connection

Hair appointments are personal. You're in a chair, being touched, for an hour or more. That's not a transaction and it shouldn't feel like one.

Presence

People deserve to feel looked after rather than rushed through an appointment. One booking at a time means nobody is waiting behind you and nothing gets hurried.

Intention

The details matter. The water temperature, the towel, the last pass with the brush. None of it is essential. All of it is why the hour feels the way it does.

Beyond the braid

Beautiful hair matters. So does how someone feels while they're sitting in the chair. If you leave looking great but you were rushed, talked over, or made to feel like a problem to be solved, then the appointment didn't work.

The quiet hour

Head spa experiences

Japanese-style head spa is the closest thing this studio has to a reset button. Warm water, a long scalp massage, and a stretch of time where the only thing being asked of you is to lie still.

Most people arrive planning to chat and stop talking somewhere in the first ten minutes. That's the correct outcome.

Two ways in: the Scalp Relief Ritual if your scalp is the thing that needs attention, or the Golden Head Spa Ritual for the full-length version.

Braiding

Braids that make it to Friday.

A braid is only good if it still looks intentional after you've slept in it. Tension that holds without pulling, sections that stay where they're put, and finishing that doesn't unravel the moment you take your coat off.

The Braid Bar is the quicker option — a single style, in and out. Add accessories if you want the version that gets noticed.

Also at the studio

A few other things worth knowing about.

A little shimmer

Fairy hair

Fine strands of tinsel tied into your own hair. No heat, no chemicals, nothing permanent — they just catch the light until you're done with them.

Membership

For people who'd rather not think about it.

Some people come in for an occasion. Others just want their hair washed properly, regularly, by someone else — without booking it, negotiating it, or wondering whether it's an indulgence this week.

The membership is for the second group. Eight washes a month, roughly two a week, already paid for and already yours. Show up, sit down, and let someone else do it.

Monthly membership

$200/month

8 washes a month

  • Eight washes every month
  • Roughly twice a week, whenever suits you
  • Same studio, same chair, same person
  • No booking negotiation each time

Booking

Find a time.

Appointments are booked online and confirmed by email. If you're not sure which service you need, send a message first — it's a two-minute conversation and it saves booking the wrong thing.

Where

How

By appointment only, one guest at a time.

Not sure what to book

Send a message describing your hair and what you're after.

Before you come

Good to know

I don't know which service to book.

Send a message with a bit about your hair and what you're hoping for. You'll get a straight recommendation back, and nobody will try to talk you into the expensive one.

Do you do weddings and events?

Yes — Event Ready Style covers weddings, recitals, graduations, and group mornings. Because the shape of the day changes the quote, these start with a conversation rather than an online booking.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes. Littlest Beauty Guests appointments are for exactly this, and they run at whatever pace the child needs.

What is fairy hair, really?

Fine strands of tinsel tied into your own hair. No heat, no chemicals, nothing permanent. They wash and style with your hair and come out whenever you want them out.

How does the membership work?

$200 a month for eight washes. Send a message to get set up — the specifics are sorted before anything is charged.
